Great that’s what I was thinking might be under the hood. That’s a great reliable engine. If you have any questions on it I have made repairs and overhauled the 60 series engines for the last 17 years.

Once I get it home and take a pressure washer to everything, I'll check everything over.
Looked already this morning, and saw nothing on the ground, underneath.

That's a collector's item!

Volvo stopped sourcing DD's when Mercedes-Benz bought them mid year 1999.
They didn't want to support their competition.

(I had a black '98, with a 13spd)

With the sort of light duty you will give that drivetrain, you'll get better fuel economy than lots of guys with f350s!

That’s an awesome truck and great find. Now you can look at the guys pulling your trailer with 250s and shake your head (odds are their trucks aren’t as modified as yours was iirc). Couldn’t believe the prices on some of those when I looked. It’s be tough to put enough miles on it to kill it. Nice short wheelbase for a HDT too
