Battle Born batteries and Victron Multiplus Compact 12/2000/80-50 120v install

I just purchased 2 Battle Born batteries and Victron Multiplus Compact 12/2000/80-50 120v inverter for my Reflection 337RLS. I was wondering if anyone out there has installed similar on their Reflection and could give me some ideas. I figured that the batteries would go basically where the existing battery is, and then that would have install the inverter on the wall behind the batteries. At least that is my current idea.

So does anyone know what is behind the wall from the front cargo compartment on which I would want to mount the inverter?

Any ideas on how to run the AC wiring from aft of the large cargo compartment to the front cargo compartment?

    Thanks!

I would remove the false wall in the back of the large pass-through. There is a lot of room not being used in there. With only 2 batteries, you can tuck them behind the false wall and not loose any cargo space to batteries at all.

There are other advantages of putting your equipment there as well. Primarily, that is a heated space, and Lithiums will not charge below freezing (the BMS prevents it as well). Next, if you put the batteries and the inverter in there, in the same area, your wiring runs for both the DC and the AC are very short, and short will have less voltage drop, which is certainly something to consider on the DC side. On the AC side as well, running 6/3 is no fun, so the smaller the run, the less pain you have, and it saves a little weight as well.

    Just some thoughts.

I thought about that. This 2 battery system is just phase 1. Although I agree there is plenty of room back there. I already had installed a PI H50C surge protector in there and saw the space. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have installed all the above and I have one issue that is not working properly.

My BMV-712 Battery Monitor does not want to show the current voltage of my battery bank currently at 14.41v.

Everything else seems to be working properly. Any ideas?

Have you gone through the settings?
    From their manual: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload...rtShunt-EN.pdf

4.5.2 Set the charged voltage setting
This setting can be found in VictronConnect > Settings > Battery.
The SmartShunt is by default set to 0.0V.
The SmartShunt does not automatically detect the system voltage like the BMV does.
You will need to set the “Charged voltage”.

Yes, I have setup the the BMV-712 exactly per Battleborn’s suggested settings.

I would have to think that is a defective device. Reach out to Victron and see what they have to say about it.

Sorry dirtdiglers that I didn’t answer earlier. Was on a vacation with minimal connection. I have a couple of mods to do this weekend and after that I’ll send some pics. It’s not cheap. Close to $4,000 invested so far and that’s without solar. I will stick with what I have for now.
