Roof manufacture warranty after adding solar panels

The dealership where we are buying our xls 23bhe offered to install solar panels on the roof at a very good price. I know that Grand Design offers 12 years manufacture warranty on the roof. Would it void the warranty if the solar panels are installed?

Be aware the 12 years is from the roofing manufacture, not Grand Design and only covers the material, not (the far more significant) labor to replace your roof.

As stated above, the 12 year warranty is the roof membrane itself, nothing else.

From what I've been reading not many dealers actually explain the 12 year roof warranty. Most people think their whole roof structure is under warranty for 12 years.

I had a good dealer who actually explained the details of the 12 year warranty. The actual roof structure leaks and all fall under the 1 year "tongue to tail" warranty. After that it's a membrane warranty for the remaining 11 years with various amounts covered depending on how far into the 12 years it is. I don't remember all the details but it was explained to me before I purchased the trailer. Of course I asked a few roof questions which might have prompted the dealer to explain it in detail.

Thank you all! This makes more sense now. Though, I understand the overall warranty is 3 years as opposed to 1.

I could be wrong but if I remember correctly it is 1 year tongue to tail, 3 year structural (does not include roof), 12 year roof membrane. The individual components (oven, refrigerator, axles etc...) are covered under the various manufacturers warranty.

Three years is the structural warranty only. The general warranty - as stated above - is one year.
