    Circulating fan for freezer?

I have the battery operated Valterra Fridgecool Fan in my refrigerator to circulate the air and it does a good job. But my freezer needs a fan as well because the top self is a lot warmer than the bottom shelf but this fan specifically states it is not for use in the freezer. So far my search on the internet and the forums has not turned up anything recommended for the freezer compartment. Has anyone out there found a fan that can be used to circulate the air in the freezer or is this a bad idea?
I have already added fans to vent the outside which has really helped the freezer and the refrigerator but I am just wanting to make the freezer compartment temperature more consistent.
    Thanks,
    Dale

Some fridges do seem to need extra fans (either behind them, or in them) to make them work better. We've never had that issue.

It is a Dometic 6 cu ft and it has been horrible. Our camper before this was a Jayco Whitehawk with I believe a Norcold 6 cu ft and we had no problems with it.

I wasn’t aware of any caution about not using the Valterra in the freezer. I’ve been doing it for over a year, as well as one in the fridge. I have rechargeable batteries for both, and charge them up every couple of weeks. I’ve never paid any attention as to which one has been in the fridge or the freezer, so my guess is that both have been run in the freezer, with no ill-effects to either one.

I must have missed that paragraph in the instruction booklet.

That is nice to know that they will work in the freezer. The only place I saw the statement not to use in the freezer is on Camping Worlds site. It says, “ Also works in ice box or ice chest, dropping cooler temperature up to 25%. Convenient on/off switch. Not for use in freezer compartment.” But this is not mentioned anywhere else, not even on the Valterra site. So I don’t know if it is true or not.

My guess would be that the cold temperatures in a freezer cause the battery to not provide enough power. If that is true one of the lithium varieties might do the trick.

I will have to get another one and try lithium rechargeable batteries and see how it does.

The very first time out with this camper three years ago and I was already wanting my other refrigerator, much better at cooling than this one. Now it is performing much better with the internal fan and the external fan kit I put on it.
