No brakes
Went to hook up my 2019 imagine trailer from storage and my 12 volt battery was dead hooked up trailer to truck's pig tail and had power to hook up,trailer jack etc, lights work, brake lights turn signals, but not brakes, disconnected the pig tail a few times still no brakes, just everything else, I have a built-in trailer brake system, GMC 2018 ,and shows no brakes? Finial turned truck of to check fuses in truck ok,turned truck back on,and now I have brakes? Why? Does the 12 volt need to be fully charged or partly, TOUGHT if I was hooked up to the truck I would be good to go? Any idea why this happeded?

Some of the newer trucks have strange ways to initially activate the trailer brakes. It's possible the truck needs to be off and then plug trailer in and then push the brake pedal.

I have a 2017 Sierra 2500 truck. One thing to be aware of is with the factory controller, if the truck is not moving, it does not energize the trailer brakes when you are pressing on the truck's brake pedal. It will apply the trailer brakes if you use the slider on the dashboard even though the truck is not moving.
