    Battery Cables

So I'm the dummy!! Last fall I removed my batteries and now need to put them back in ( two six volts). I can't remember which cable is positive (red??)and which is negative (black??). Can someone please educate me! Next time I will write myself a note. Thanks for the help.

    BTW.. I have a Reflection 303

You got it! Red is positive and Black is negative.
When I went to remove my battery to winterize the unit I noticed an extra wire on the positive that had not been hooked up. I will have to figure out what it is for in about 6 weeks!

If you have an extra wire on the positive it's best to have the dealership look at it.

I take a picture before I disconnect wires. Not necessarily the battery though. On my boat which has several wires connected to each battery terminal I zip tie the pos and neg bundles together.

It could be for the electric trailer brakes or even possible for the solar prep package. You can always hook up your trailer to your truck like normal and just test to see if the brakes hold the trailer put.

If you have the solar prep, the wire might be for it

Just remember if you ever hook up the batteries backwards for even a tiny bit of time, you'll likely blow the reverse polarity fuses on the converter.

It could be for the CO detector. My understanding (possibly erroneous) is that the main battery disconnect switch doesn't disconnect the detector.

    Hi Mark (@McKeeFamily),

I checked with our Reflection Production Manager, and he advised that extra wire is the solar prep wire.

    Best regards,
