    DIY Bunkhouse updates

Thought I would share the kid friendly bunkhouse updates I made to our 308bhts.

For the bunk rails, I used 3/4" x 10" pine boards. Cut to length and rounded the edged. I used black steel shelf brackets from Home depot to secure them (link below) I bolted the brackets on the fixed bunk and used gate hardware to create latched on the folding bunk, which allows the rail to be removed. Kids helped with artwork and painting!!

Ladders were constructed from leftover oak flooring with hardwood dowels for additional support. I used rubber-coated ladder hooks from Amazon.com.

I also added some night lights with USB ports and book cubbys for the minions.

Lastly, I added a baby gate to help keep the pooches at bay in the evening and while we're away.

Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

More mods: I relocated our 308bhts living room light switch from the closet panel to the adjacent wall. I also made it a dimmer switch. Works great and is a lot more convenient Click image for larger version.

    Few more:

Added a Morryde locking swivel TV mount in the bedroom.

Also added a second 15k btu Dometic air conditioner to the bedroom. Hardest part was removing the old sealant from around the old went.

A welcome addition with the 100 deg temps we had today. Attachment 28261Attachment 28262Attachment 28264Click image for larger version.
