GD Steps Up With Major Tire Upgrade

I just got rid of all of my Westlake's when they had to replace both axles under warranty and installed the Goodyear Endurance for all 5. Wow, what a ride difference I noticed almost immediately. Running at 55psi per their weight chart. Good for GD!

I believe the Solitude line comes standard still with G-rated Westlakes, with the H-rated Coopers as an optional upgrade or a mandatory upgrade with 8K axle upgrade. I ordered an S-Class 2930RL and within the last two weeks GD has added as an option the H-rated Cooper tire on a 17.5" rim. It is a bit over $700 for the upgrade. It was not available when I ordered in late June with August build and September delivery ... curious what changes they are making mid-model-year (ie: August/September) ... would be great if H-rated tires arrive, but given the fact it shows up as a $$$ option I am not hopeful.

Would it be worth it to go from G to H rated tires given I have 7K axles and a somewhat lighter Solitude (11800 lb dry and 15500 GVWR)? The upcharge of $733 for the H-rated tires with 17.5" rims is almost enough for a new set of Sailun G-rated tires (ran these on my previous 40' 5th wheel with no issues) .... I have heard the Westlake G-rated tires are holding up fine (as opposed to their E-rated bombs) .... remember this is not a toy-hauler Momentum. Thoughts? Counter-thoughts appreciated as well!

I see no reason to go to H rated tires on any 7k axle (or frankly 8K either). The Sailun's are good for 4400 per tire. The H's will just be stiffer yet pushing more shock into the suspension and trailer. And its not like our suspensions have a glowing reputation either.

I know my 398M (which should be out of paint now) has Cooper 17.5 H rated tires.... I had to pay extra for them as part of the disc brake upgrade..... So I am guessing that what you posted is likely 16" Coopers?
