Highway US 2

We are traveling U.S. highway 2 across the US, from WA to Maine and would like to stay by lakes, rivers, forest and any place fun. We are in 300GK Solitude (35 ft) we can dry camp. We can meet up (with masks) or travel along for awhile. We will think about returning home some day.

We took US 2 from Montana to Michigan. While it's an easy drive the scenery for the most part is very boring , unless you like looking at farm fields and an occasional train . We pretty much high tailed it, personally I wouldn't drive it again unless we had to...that is how boring it looked.

As for camping along the way there isn't much. We did an over night about halfway between MT and MN, where ever it was it was not much to remember..
Also stopped at a State park in MN that is in a city along a river . They turned a neighborhood that flooded into a campground..the name escapes me and in the Upper Peninsula of MI there are several spots to dry camp. There are National and State forest campgrounds all over. The 2 that stick out are Little Girls Point county park (no water or dump on site but they have ele) near Ironwood and near the east side of the Peninsula a NFS campground Brevort lake Campground also Camping on Lake MI, one of the loops in there you won't fit.

We spent a week traveling Rt 2 from upstate NY to Sweetgrass MT last year on our way to Alaska. We chose that as an alternative to Rt 90 to avoid Cincinnati, Chicago, Detroit etc. We were able to make good time on Rt 2 and we didn't have any problem finding overnights, dumping stations etc. We used RVParky and freecampsites.net to locate campsites often staying at town or county sites for cheap, many with electric. If we were to do !it again we would do the same route.
