    Sagging Awning Light String

Uh oh!! On our GD 2600 RB, I noticed when we got home the awning light was sagging through the middle. I opened the awning a bit and discovered the awning light had come lose. Looks like the light strip is simply glued or something. It has been extremely hot, so I'm wondering did the glue or whatever melt. I sure don't want to wait for an appointment and it's a long way to go for service, even if it is a warranty issue. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I would recommend simply gluing the strip in place with some 3m adhesive or Urethane caulking. I would not recommend Silicone because it is not UV stable and would probably fail prematurely.

Mine has sags in it - always has. It's not glued or in a track - it's attached in 6-8 places from end to end and sags between those points. I noticed it the day I picked up the trailer. They said that's the way it's done. It would look a lot more professional if the string was in a straight track.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the glue idea some thought. Seems that GD would have ensured the light strip was secure given the location and movement from wind, rain, etc.

A good product to hold it if you can hold it in place for a couple of hours is Lexel by Sashco. I stuck my eyebrow LED strip back on with it just after I got the trailer, August 2018. i used masking tape to hold the strip down. Like the OP I did not want to take the time to return to the dealer and have the tech silicon it in place that would last for a year or two.
