I have a Champion 3500 flex fuel that is just the ticket for my needs. I carry it on the 2" receiver on the 320MKS when we need it for travel or on the truck when tail gating. I'm able to plug the gas hose into my gas port that I have for my outdoor kitchen and have plenty of flow to run off of the coaches 2 30# bottles. I did leave room to carry a 20# bottle under the cover I built but haven't because I worry about weight. I know GD limits the hitch weight at 300# but have examined the welds and am confident in the structure. I've also built a pallet with wheels that allow me to move it in and out of storage and have bought a motor cycle lift so that I can connect and disconnect by my self. My wife helps but it is mostly instructional.

There’s no doubt that having the RV set up to be self contained is certainly convenient. It’s about your lifestyle and how the gen set will be used.
Personally, I wanted to be able to use the gen set away from the RV, example, on the hunting property and around our property for things like a small buzz box, heavy duty drill or air compressor. The only real inconvenience when doing an overnight is getting that power cord up to the generator setting in the pickup box. Attached pictures show my current set up stored and running positions. Everything in the pictures are CARB & EPA compliant. Click image for larger version.

Yes it is the P4500i Onan. Currently I have not installed a soft start on either A/C unit and the gen set will not run both units if both try and cycle at the same time. It does however, run either one and fan only on one of the A\Cs along with appliances. Got 13.5 Hrs. on tank full, very low fuel but still running.
    I have a 13 & 15 A/C,

sorry I forgot to ask the other concern i have. that is the carb kit for higher elevations. on my Honda, it was recommended also but we have been at 7k and 9 k feet as well as the typical 1500 to 5000 feet without any issues. cold, hot, in between, rain and snow also. just curious. Oh, and yeah, I have the 15 k so I am sure it will do fine. thanks.
