RV pad crushed stone for now. concrete in a couple of years
Hi all,
Any advise on building a RV pad?
Planning on building one beside our garage. Right now, our TT is parked on grass and I'm a little worried about moisture.
For now, it will have to be crushed stone or similar for the next couple of years. Then possibly concrete.
Planning on going 12 feet wide and 30 ft long, which is close the to the max I can go.
How deep should I go? Below the grass and top soil, its pretty much sand.
Will I need to put some kind of vapour barrier to prevent moisture from coming up?
Adding a cover of some sort is, unfortunately, not an option.Steph & Lise

I had a gravel pad or 2 in the past. Use some larger crushed stone, not pebble size. I only went about 4" deep over what was a very wet area. I recall laying some drainage pipe in too. I never bothered with the concrete and put some plexiglass under the tires to prevent moisture issues.

If/when you do concrete you might consider (if you have the space) going 14+ft wide just so there is room on each side for service, washing, ladder placement, etc.
