Fifth Wheel Hitch Height
I am picking up my 2021 GD Reflection 303RLS tomorrow (dealer is 5.5 hours drive away). I used to have a 2013 Ford F-250 short bed and I had my Pullrite SuperGlide 2700 mounted on Reese rails that were bolted directly on the bed of the truck for pulling my old fifth wheel. I since have traded in that truck last year for a 2018 Ram 3500 MegaCab SRW 4x4 with the Cummins Diesel. We also pull a horse trailer with my gooseneck so I needed a beefier truck. I ordered the rail adapter for my Ram Puck system from Pullrite. It raised my SuperGlide hitch about 3” and from the picture below it is about 1-2 inches below the bed rails including the tonneau cover thickness. Does any one see a problem with this? I was worried about bed clearance but now I wonder if I will be riding too nose high or have difficulty hooking up. The top of the hitch plate is around 57” above the ground. I am hoping that the weight of the Pullrite system (90lb. rails and over 200 lb. hitch) along with a dry tongue weight of 1725 lbs will sink the bed down to a level ride height. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. Sorry that photo is rotated.

Yep - looks like you ended up level and with good clearance. Both the Demco Glide Ride (on our previous fiver) and MORryde (on our Solitude) dampened pin boxes have taken all the chucking out of the setup with our PullRite OE 18K. I don't know about dampened pin boxes and the SuperGlide, though.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the MORyde pin box for my 2020 Reflection 29RS to help with my chucking issue (2013 Chevy 2500HD Duramax and B&W Patriot 18k Slider). Just wondering if GD has any warranty issues if changing out the Lippert 1621 standard pin box?

None at all. In fact, they new Solitudes and Momentums are coming with the MORryde pin boxes (our new 2020 Solitude has one). I think MORryde has different pin boxes for different GVWRs so the damping with be right. Check with them for the right model number - the Lippert 1621 pin box covers a lot of territory.

Thanks Rob. Pretty sure I have the 15.5 Lippert (GVWR is 10995 on 29RS) but will double check so I'm thinking the 18k will work. Also wondering about weight difference of the two as I am close to my max truck payload. Hitting a CAT scale to weigh truck later this week.

Which capture plate do you have for the 2021. We are getting same trailer.

I purchased a capture plate based off this forum directly from Pullrite since most third party sellers were out of stock. I don't remember the exact part number, but it did not fit when I took delivery. My dealer was over 5 hours away and the measurements made by the salesperson were incorrect.
Luckily they had a universal plate in stock. It is part number 3365. It works well. I did have it fall off once when disconnecting from the fifth wheel so make sure you have an Allen wrench available to keep it tightened regularly.
The right stuff
