Bed project with my 6 year old

We have 3 kids and our bunkhouse had 2 beds and a hid-abed. The hide-abed was a pain. When converted to a bed there was little room to walk. When it was a couch there wasn't much room to sleep on. It had been bugging me for a while so the other night I broke the couch down and pulled it out. Off to the hardware store for some plywood, 2x2's, and 1x4's. My 6 year old helped me cut, file, drill, and screw. It was some quality man time! In no time we built a frame that also provides a place for him to store his toys. From amazon I bought a 6'x36"x6" medium firm foam pad and a cover. I think it might be the best bed in the camper now!

P.S. My son calls sawdust "man glitter." I've heard it 100 times and it still makes me laugh!

If you need some bed rails,.... I made some from Home Depot shelf brackets and some 1x8 boards. I to had a 6 year old supervisor helping out. [emoji106]

If you need some trim to finish it off. Call GD they will send you matching trim. I called for a sheet of matching plywood for a project I had and the sent me a shelf that matches and it worked perfect for me.
