It also depends on direction. Cross winds can be scary, so I just slow down until I feel comfortable...

I started to worry so I slowed down. At one point we saw a bunch of dust devils off in the distance. Then they got closer. All of a sudden I felt a sharp jolt. It felt like a giant hand had slapped us. However our truck/trailer never moved out of our lane. What I think happened was we went right through one of those dust devils. It was a scary experience. I was really happy to be driving a dually that day!
Your truck probably weighs about as much as your trailer doesn't it?
I'm surprised you felt anything at all towing with that monster.

That's funny because my F250 diesel is just a hair over 10k when we're towing and the trailer scales at 9500.

I've never weighed the combination, but I suspect our total weight when hitched up is probably about 20k lbs total.
