Tacoma vs 22MLE
I am potentially just about to pull the trigger on a 2021 22MLE which claims a dry weight of 5,176. My tow rating max is 6,700.
Would this be pushing it too far? Definitely getting the upgraded anti-sway hitch.
Thanks very much in advance,

IMHO your pushing it. Max tow is one thing but payload is the killer. On our last little get away trip, we hit the Cat Scale. TT was at 6200 lbs if I remember correctly at tongue weight at 780 lbs. What those you TV door sticker say for payload. On our F150 its 1426.

Also, would dropping to the 18MKE make a meaningful difference?
22MLE: "UVW: 5,176 lbs | GVWR: 6,995 lbs | Hitch Weight: 490 lbs | Length: 26' 1""
18MKE: "UVW: 4,674 lbs | GVWR: 6,395 lbs | Hitch Weight: 480 lbs | Length: 21' 11""

Rule of thumb on tongue weight is 13% of tt weight and that is loading it carefully. Not going over board on the front.

Any options or add on (like a tonneau cover) needs to be included in the payload.
It goes real quick.

The numbers published by GD are based on dry weight out of the factory. No propane tanks, no battery. Also keep in mind, that the storage is in the front. Most people, when they go to the Cat Scales to get their actual numbers end up being around 13%.

You are confusing Payload weight and Towing Capacity, you are dividing dry tongue weight by the maximum towing capacity of your truck.
Tongue weight is added to your payload capacity not your towing capacity.
Going by book numbers that says you are within limits will sometimes make a very unpleasant experience, I would not do that combination.2020 IMAGINE XLS 22MLE
