Water Heater fill
Does the water heater automatically fill when TT is connected to water source, and source is opened?

Yes, then give it a few minutes to fill before turning on the water heater switch. If your water heater is not filling, check to see if it is in bypass mode from winterization. There should be a diagram at the water heater access compartment.

First, make sure the water heater bypass valve (used for winterizing) is closed (normal operation, not by-pass mode). Then open a hot water faucet and let run run until you get just water water (no air) running out (I like to purge multiple faucets one at a time) before turning on the water heater. You can also open the over temp & pressure valve at the top of the water heater to purge the air, but it will make a mess (just water) when the tank is full. You access this from outside the trailer under the water heater access cover. The idea is you want to get all of the air out of the tank and have it filled with water before turning on either the electric or gas heating.

CoChris is correct!
CoChris is absolutely spot-on. Don't turn-on the 'Electric' hot water switch until you are sure that the H/W tank is full. The heating element will split open (permanently fail) if not fully immersed in water when energized.
