285BHTS Awning Arms Pulling Away from Frame

Apologies if I missed a previous post, I did search for this specific problem throughout the forums.

The awning arms are pulling away from the side of our 2019 285BHTS, screwed into free space at every location with self-tapping screws. What has anyone done to rectify, which anchors did you use, and what were your results? TIA.

Oscar Rivets are what GD usually sends to fix this problem.

Put Oscar Rivets into Advanced Search > Posts > Keyword(s) > Oscar Rivets, several posts should show up.

Check your awning screws - https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...-awning-screws

    gbkims,

Thank you very much for the information! Are you a current or prior Navy ET? I was an ET from 1989 - 1995.

I talked to GD about getting rivets to reattach our awning. Even though they had photos of what had happened, all they did was tell me to have a technician come out and look at it. We had to find and buy rivets on our own. I kept insisting that the rivets were what everyone else was repairing their awning with. I was told it was case by case. So basically, they didn't help us.

I used Oscar rivets on my awning a couple years ago. Bought them online.
