Husky WDH : sway adjust and lube

Howdy.. I have the Husky Centerline 800-1200 lb bars and (I assume) 12k hitch. I am having an issue where sway got bad on a (9-hour interstate run) return trip with my 2670MK. Turns out one of the anti-sway couplings had loosened up. Interestingly, top bolt is 1-1/8” and bottom nut is 1-1/16” .... NONE of my wrenches or sockets were the right size (on the trip). I cannot find any info on how to adjust or what the torque should be on those bolts. Anyone know how to adjust the sway control?

Second issue, I had been using lithium grease on the sway connection... was told by dealer NOT to grease, so I run them dry. Sway control worked better dry. But it seems wrong - metal on metal - and I saw on info sheet that they SHOULD be lightly oiled?? Since this is a friction connection, not sure how they sway control would be affected with oil/lube... any insight?

    Thx,

Is it the Equaliser or the husky centerline that you have? These are not the same. Similar but 2 different manufacturers

If husky center line ts, trunnion torque is 150 lbs and absolutely no grease or oil at the end of the spring bars. Its suppose to be metal on metal friction.

    Equalizer hitches do require lube.

See link from Equalizer web site...

    https://www.equalizerhitch.com/blog/...al-i-zer-hitch

I would think any high quality bearing lube will work fine.

I bought my Husky Centerline TS hitch from a hitch shop in Elkhart IN (not a trailer dealer). They recommended using a thin coat of vaseline on the ends of the bars and that's what I've been using. No sway problems at all with my 2020 21bhe.

    From the Husky manual:

Keep lift brackets clean, and using a light lubrication on the lift bracket support surfaces to keep rust to a
    minimum is acceptable.

The lift bracket is the bracket mounted on the trailer frame that the spring bars ride on.

What the manual says to not lubricate:

Do not apply lubrication to the friction surfaces of the top and bottom
plates or on the top or bottom trunnion surfaces as this will reduce the built in friction sway
    feature.

The trunnions are the blocks the lift bars are pinned into.

Since you have the Husky, follow those directions.

Disregard the picture. Won't let me delete it.

    Thanks,
