    Want to remodel

2019 2600RB. Front bedroom. The linen closets on each side of bed. Are they helping to hold up the overhead cabinet. I want to remove the closets. I feel confined with them in there and they are more of a catch all with no shelving. It won’t take much to remove them. I am just concerned if they are holding up the over head!

On a side question anyone put a dresser somewhere in a 2600RB? Thinking about making a dresser on wheels to go under the fold up counter in kitchen area.

    Thoughts???

Yes they are probably holding the overhead cabinets. You won't get much under the folding counter. Why not put shelves in the side closets?

I’d rather have the open space.

After looking at pictures of the bedroom of your model the first thing that came to mind is to not remove those cabinets but to shorten them by half the height and create night stands in the small space created. Kind of suprised that wasn't done in the beginning from GD. The layout is simular to our first TT, my thought is that those are to replace not having wardrobe cabinets in the bedroom or the bathroom.

Keep in mind if you remove the little bit of clothing storage there is in the trailer that it may hamper reselling in the future. People like having places for hanging clothes . I would not remove or modify both of the cabinets for that reason alone.

I called GD. They said the upper cabinets are not supported by the wardrobes on either side. So glad to report. The space is more open and looks better now.

Wifey bought a $30 four drawer dresser from Target. Now we have organized spots for our clothes.

Anyone done the shortening mod. It’s exactly what I’m looking to do.

Our 2021 2600RB has two drawers below the hanging section on each side. There is a lot of dead space between the back of drawers and the curved front wall and below the hanging clothes shelf. My goal this winter is to open the panel up, trim it out nice, and make area on each side of bed with cubby hole and outlets for phone chargers, glasses, etc. If/when I get it done I will post pictures.

We were pleasantly surprised with bedside cubbies (one each side) when we picked up our 2021 2970RL. See picture. There are USB outlets and 110v outlet inside the cubby. I can take some pictures of the internal structure behind the drawers if you would like.

If you could post interior photos, I'd appreciate it. Something I could do with our 2020 2600.
