    Small Portable Generator Comparison Chart.

I keep considering replacing my 2 Honda 2000i's with 2200's. So I did some comparison shopping today. The results are below. I think I'd favor a pair of Onan P2500's. But I am only looking. I still can't think of a lot of compelling reasons to trade up.

I'm very happy with my Honda 2200 generators and the ability to run them parallel is such a benefit for the added power. I have experience with Champion and unfortunately the dependability was not the same in my experience as the Honda. Also owned 2 Predator generators from Harbor Freight and although another good value they occasionally were hard to start. The added cost of the Honda is worth it so far.

Interesting options. The Champion 100478, despite having a bit less power, is only 38 lbs! That's the lightest unit I've seen.

OTOH the Onan P4500 is about the same weight as the Predator 3500, yet has 4500 starting watts and 3700 running watts. And the Onan p4500 has an 18 hr run time at 25% load, and a 15 hr run time at 50% load. That's amazing!

The Westinghouse 2500 is the exact same gen as the Onan...only a couple of hundred $ less.

yep.. I added that Champion as an afterthought as I have not considered them but knew others use them. Not such a fan of Champion - those specs look odd at only 38 lbs and it has a small engine.

I had not noticed this. It kind of make the Westinghouse the better deal.
