    Turning Point and Wedge

New to 5th wheel. Question about the wedge fit on Turning Point pinbox. At freeway speeds around turns I'm catching a knock and some fishtail from time to time. Scary. It's subtly not firm going down the road at times. Not windy at all. This picture is of dealership installation. New rig and setup. This appears to have a lot of space on either side of the wedge. Too much? Please advise. Thank you.

I have the Reese sidewinder, the equivalence of your setup.
When you initially set it up , you need to loosen bolts, back in trailer, and hammer wedge forward to take up space to pin. Then tighten bolts.
Remove trailer and torque bolts down.
The wedge has two positions, depending on your hitch.
You may want to read owners manual for correct setups for your situation.
    Doesn’t look right to me.
I have had mine for 5 years, two different trailers, never had any sway or chucking.
    Good luck

You need to get the correct wedge specifically for your hitch. That install is botched. Contact you hitch manufacturer and get the correct wedge. It should fit snugly with ZERO play. Lippert may have information on their web page for the turning point hitch too. Do not continue to use the setup you dealer did - shame on them.

    Good luck and stay safe

The other solution is lock the turning point and use your hitch as a standard 5th wheel.

I have three possible solutions here. Tighten up universal wedge, buy a hitch specific wedge or lockout the pinbox. Working through all three solutions. Will update.
    Thanks friends.

It looks to me like the wedge is installed backwards.

Plot thickens. Had a conversation with Pullrite and they don't recommend I use the hitch the dealership sold and installed for me. Too much shear force on hitch and wedge.

The wedge is installed backwards. I see you have a PullRite hitch. I bought the 24K PullRite hitch that the dealer recommended and used the universal Lippert wedge. The setup seemed to work OK at first but eventually I had too much play in the setup. I changed to the specific wedge that Lippert recommended and that didn't even come close to fitting the hitch. So, I bit the bullet and bought a Curt A-16 hitch with a Curt wedge designed specifically for that hitch. Works great. I sold the PullRight hitch. It's frustrating dealing with dealers and RV companies that don't know their products well.

The wedge is positioned correctly. The long end of the wedge goes in first with a PullRite hitch. The problem is the 1900 PullRite hitch is not designed to be used with a Turning Point at any weight class. The dealer sold and installed an incorrect hitch. The PullRite 2100 is the correct hitch and the dealership is going to ship out a 2100 and make things right. The original Turning Point wedge is designed to be used with a PullRite 2100. Will update again when things come together. Thanks for all the replies.

Well, now that I've had time with the manuals and spent some time going through things I found the wedge was well below 200lbs of torque which allowed it to move at freeway speeds. Also, the original dealer upgraded the PullRite to the recommended hitch for a Turning Point pin box which is the 2100 not the 1900. That should put things right. Thank you for the replies. Appreciated.
