    That's what we do.

I had an elaborate plan to place the cat box in the basement, under the stairs, and create a walkway for them to reach it, but I chose to install my Lithium Batteries in the space instead.

The Shower works well, we chose a covered box and place a rug under the cat box.

We started with the litter box in the shower but moved it to the washer/dryer closet floor and propped open the door slightly with a floor jam.

Also, on the first trip out, our cat found a hiding spot behind the shoe storage area on the first step. That access will not be blocked off till further notice.

Be aware that there is no top above the "Shoe Hidey Hole" and your cat can access the basement area. This area is behind the rear wall in the basement where you will not have access without removing the wall.

Because air needs to flow through the stairs and into the basement, I went to Home Depot and purchased a 2' x 4' sheet of peg-board to cover that hole.

Our cat also found her way into the undercarriage via the "Shoe Hidey Hole".

I closed it off w/ a 1 x 4 which I painted black. Why does air need to flow into the basement via the stairs?

Do I need to swap out the wood for pegboard?

We don't have a Solitude but we found a smaller box that fits between the toilet and the shower.

If you use the search function and look for "litter box," you'll find a number of threads on this topic (which include other information about RVing with cats).

BTW - welcome to the forum. You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

We closed off our shoe hidey hole with Peg Board.

There are a couple of places where air passes between the hold and the living area. The reason is because the hold area beneath the living area is heated and air needs to pass from the hold up into the cold air intake area for the furnace (which is in the main living area) to circulate the air.

That makes sense. Looks like some modifications of my kitty-barrier are in order. Thanks!
