It's so funny you just posted this. I just finished my roof this morning. I went to Camping World and one bottle of Protect All Rubber Roof Cleaner, and one bottle of Protect All Rubber Roof Treatment. They worked beyond all expectations.

My roof was stained with bird droppings and other grime. I'd washed it several times with RV detergent, but the roof still looked really bad. The products I listed above worked great! I used the cleaner twice, and it completely took away all the dirt. Then I put one coat of the treatment on. The roof literally looks brand new.

If you use it, follow the directions exactly as they are listed on the bottles. Make sure you change the rinse water frequently and don't slop it over the sides or you might get streaks.

    Hi @Poetater,

We typically recommend (as does our supplier) that a mild detergent/water combo be used to clean the roof. Use caution with aftermarket products, and do not use petroleum based products.

    Best regards,

Janice, can you please specify what kind of mild detergent? We have PDI scheduled for this saturday for our 29RS and would like to keep our roofing material clean and healthy! Mild detergent just seems a pretty broad assumption for us consumers!

    Hi Bruce & Terry,

Dawn mild dish soap seems to be the most effective.

The roofing material is made of EPDM rubber and already has excellent UV radiation resistance. Roof conditioners do little to extend the life of the material and most of them make the roof surface very slippery.

    @ Janice,

Our roof has workboot prints (mostly around the AC) which seem to have been put there when the roof covering material was soft. Is this something that we should be concerned about ?

Rob, mine was the same and also still had lots of bubbles in it. Some seem to have dissipated but I'm watching it closely. I'll be eager to hear Janice's view point.

Here is an informative link that will answer almost all your questions about your roof material. Sorry, Janice if I'm stepping on this thread but this link gives tons on info on EPDM and I believe EPDM is what GD uses on their roofs.
