    Power roof vent issue

Our unit came with the rain sensing type above the kitchen area and it does something unexpected.
If I just open it, it will stay open until it senses rain or my water sprayer as a test.
If I open it and run the fan, after a while, maybe 10 minutes, it shuts off and closes by itself, as if on a timer and/or motion sensor.
Can anyone explain this unexpected and unwanted feature, or is it a malfunction?

Oh yeah, I searched first lol

I’ll venture a guess that you are getting no responses because no one knows the brand/model number of your fan. If you can find that on the unit, perhaps you can download a user’s manual. If you have the installation manual, it may indicate several settings that you might adjust such as temperature, humidity, or, as you indicated, perhaps timer on the fan (makes sense- you wouldn’t want your fan killing your battery if you’re not on shore power).

That's just it, there is no documentation in the new owners package about the fan. Let me inspect it closer by eyeball...

All it says on it is 'MaxxFan' on one corner and it has an umbrella symbol on another corner...
There is nothing on the serial number date sheet either.

i found there is a lot of stuff not covered in the owners manual or if it is, its way too general and doesn't go into any detail operation.
Anyway haven't seen this particular problem mentioned before but we had problems with our MaxAir kitchen fan just after we got the RV, just intermittently open and close by itself. Or if we had it on, it might close after awhile and then open right back up. Couldn't figure it out, bunch of gremlins running around in there. Then as we had a free standing floor heater oscillating fan plugged into the 110V outlet near the MaxAir fan controls mounted on the wall, with the oscillating fan power cord running right next to the MaxAir controller, once we unplugged the oscillating heater fan, all the problems stopped and the MaxAir fan has worked perfect ever since. I know, it makes no sense, one should not have affected the other, but it did somehow. Motor noise induced into the electrical wiring? Who knows, but we have never had problems with it again.

Now much later (year or so) as I installed a Progressive Industries power monitor in behind the closet, next to the wall where the MaxAir fan controls are located, this wall also has the power distribution center mounted in it, the wiring in there is an absolute mess with wires all tangled around each other. I can understand how induced signals can get into other power devices. The power connections and such are very sloppy done.

Interesting Steve. Well our unit is brand new and we are just 'moving in' for a trip soon, so nothing else is plugged in yet.
It's on the list of warranty items, which thankfully is pretty small now, but won't be surprised if it grows during our maiden trip out camping and fishing.
The fan has 4 speeds and wall controls, which I can't find for sale at etrailer to try and get a model number.
Anybody know how and where to find the model number on these?

I guess it's one of the circuit boards, there's the main one, then could have a rain sensor which I don't don't have.
