Coming from another owner of one of the larger Solitudes, I would say three ACs are not NEEDED, but, as mentioned above, if it is really hot outside and I have no shade, there are times my two units run non-stop. I typically have the AC set at 74, and I have had times where the two units can not keep it there. I will say, once the sun sets and it is time to go to sleep, things are very comfortable.

That said, if I were buying new, I would get the three units if it was offered. I will NOT go through adding one at this point. In summary, a nice to have, not a need.

At this time, I would much rather spend $$ on disc brakes and an IS upgrade.

GD does offer the 3rd AC for Solitudes (see the grand design website price / build tab.

We are adding at 3rd AC to our 2020 Solitude as soon as the MACH 15's are back in inventory...we like it as cold as possible and the 3rd AC will get us close to that goal.

We have slide toppers on every slide and we keep the awnings open as much as possible and it still gets ridiculously hot in here, single pane windows and blinds shut about 2/3 of the way.

Something doesn't sound right. Are you sure both of your A/C units are blowing cold air? I apologize for the question but your rig should cool down in minutes with both A/C's running and outside temp in the 60's.

It's 106 outside our RV right now with no shade with the low temperature overnight about 80. It's 77 inside our RV. That's not cool but then our high (and low) temp is 40 degrees warmer than yours.

You must be looking at a different website than I am. I can't find where they offer a third AC unit.

They did show 3 A/C units as optional on the Build and Price website a couple months ago but I haven't seen it since then. The last time I looked, they didn't have heat pump units as an option either.

I totally agree with you, it is taking in the internal temperature of the air and blowing out about 12゚ cooler. It just cannot keep up the cool air enough to cool down the inside of the RV. On both thermostats it is set to cool Hi. And it just does not seem to cooled off the inside.

Maybe the A/C unit isn't working properly with it set to Cool/Hi. Try Cool/Hi/Auto. I don't know if that will help but it will shut the unit off when it reaches the set temp. Cool/Hi will keep the fan running regardless of the temp inside.

Yep tried that to, with the the thermostats set down around 70 when it is 85 inside. To no help either.
From everything I can find on different forms and YouTube, if I measure the air temperature going into the return and the air temperature coming out of the dump vent, the Max I can expect is 15゚. The only problem is two 1500 BTU air conditioners apparently cannot circulate enough cool air to make a dent in a trailer this size.

You've got some other problem. We had a 2019 43' Solitude 373FB-R and our two A/C units would have cooled that rig in 30 minutes if it was 65 outside. ANY air conditioner that is working properly in ANY RV will cool down the inside when it's only 65 degrees outside. You may want to remove the A/C cover from the ceiling and see if your ducting is connected properly. What year is your RV? I read a post from a guy recently who had a 2021 model. His RVAirflow foam blocks were installed upside down from the factory.
