Black tank smell
Could leaving the roof vent open while traveling suck the sewer smell into the coach? I left the vent open and when we got to our destination the TT reeked of sewer gas.

So many possibilities to answer this without knowing more.
Has it happened before? Did you flush before leaving previous location? If yes, did you use the same method as in the past? Is the tank clogged? Did the toilet close correctly? Is the vent blocked? Did the vent cap get busted by a tree branch and close up the pipe? Etc. etc.2010 Tundra SR5 DC 5.7L 4x4

Not likely the ventilation vent.
In addition to suggestions above, explore the possibility that it's not the black tank you're smelling but a gray tank. They can get REALLY stinky too, and a trailer the age of yours is ripe for failed air admittance valves. There's one under the bathroom sink and another under/near the kitchen sink. Both are there to allow air INTO the respective gray tank but prevent air from coming out of it. When they fail they don't do the latter. Some nosing around - literally - under the sinks might reveal stronger smells there. If one has failed, this is the popular replacement for it:

It's often an easy task to replace this - hand-screw the old one off and hand-screw the new one on.
Another more gruesome possibility not yet mentioned is a black or gray tank leaking, possibly through one of its top or side fittings, while contents are sloshing around in it. Check the coroplast under the trailer for undue sagging (they usually sag somewhat even when not holding water), signs of dripping, and push up on it vigorously to test for liquid above it.
My third wild shot at it is, if you have a washing machine that hasn't been used in a while then run a wash cycle or at least a rinse cycle. People have reported the drain for the washing machine collecting stagnant and very stinky water that stinks up the place when the trailer is agitated.
