would you use sway control regardless of the tow vehicle and trailer?

We are likely downgrading to a smaller trailer...example, 31’ trailer but towing with F-450 or F-350 SRW.

Thoughts on a sway control only system? I think Reese makes one.

I personally would use sway control. Even if the truck has it built in, adding it is cheap insurance in my view. WDH with sway control built in may not cost much more? Your truck’s manual will probably say how much tongue weight requires a WDH.

Sway control hitch properly setup is not going to hurt anything only make it better. Why wouldn't you?

If you have enough money to buy/bought a F450/F350 what's another $500-$1000 for a proper hitch?

    That's a fair question.

I just want to buy what I need. A sway control mechanism is much cheaper than a full WDH with sway control.

I was just curious if others have done something like this.
