I-4 from Tampa to Port Orange
Hey,
What do you all think of taking I-4? I heard it can be a mess but I'd like to get over the the East Coast and stay in Daytona Beach for a night on my way home. On our way here we took 301 and I-75 from the North and that wasn't too bad.Ed & Kaitlin

We've done Tampa to Orlando on I-4, i think that's a little more than half way to Port Orange. There's construction here and there, but I didn't think it was worse than any other interstate.

Maybe take I-4 to 417 to 528 to 407 to 95. It sounds complicated but it isn't. All expressway except for maybe the 3 or 4 miles on 407 but it is a fine road. This would incur tolls which, for me, are well worth it versus alternative routes.
It avoids the construction through Orlando.
Most likely there will be some slow downs where 27 comes into it when traveling east right before the theme parks; just stay in the right hand lane & you'll get through it just fine.Larry KE4DMG

DON'T DO IT!! There are many other ways to get from Tampa to Daytona other than I-4. I-4 through the attractions and Orlando is a construction night mare. For a straight shot I would take I-75 North to Ocala and then catch SR-40 across to Ormond Beach and then drop down a bit to Daytona Beach.
