Condensation in Solitude 3740BH
Hey all! We are seriously considering purchasing a Solitude 3740BH and went for one final look at a different dealer. They were awesome and plugged it in the night before so we could check out the A/C. There was condensation on the *inside* of the glass pantry door, the glass cabinet doors, plus the lips of the drawers. It was dropping on the floor in some places. We've been RV owners for 5 years and never experienced this before on our rig. Granted, it doesn't have 3 A/Cs in it. Is this unusual? Should we be concerned about this particular unit?
Thanks! This forum has been immensely helpful!

That condensation sounds odd to me, nothing on the windows? How much temp difference was there between the inside of the cabinets and the interior?

I'll bet that rig was very hot inside before you plugged in the A/C and that you are in a humid climate. So when the A/C cooled things down the insides of the cabinets and drawers accumulated condensation.
What was the inside temp before and after the A/Cs ran? What was the outside temp and humidity.
Similar thing happens when you point an automobile's A/C vent at a side window and blast the A/C in a humid climate; condensation forms on the outside fogging the windows up.
Maybe open the cabinets and drawers a bit to clear up the condensation and keep the A/Cs running. I wouldn't think it is an issue with the rig itself.Larry KE4DMG

My bet is that the unit was in the sun on the lot, got plugged in and 3 a/c units running, the slide mounted items are holding the heat while the body is cold.
Could also have that slide still in the sun, which won't let it cool down.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

There was some condensation on the windows which we've experienced before on our travel trailer - just not on the inside and on the lips of wood cabinets! I don't recall noticing a big difference in the temperatures inside the cabinets.

Thanks @huntr70 - that's what we are hoping. We've just never experienced anything like that but maybe having 3 A/Cs compared to our single was the difference!
Exciting news... We decided to take the plunge and become Grand Design owners! We are super excited!
Thanks again for your all's responses!
