    Converter

Hi, my first time doing this , hope I’m doing this correctly, we own a 2021 solitude fifth wheel, My question is we have power when I’m plugged in to Shoreline , there’s no power when using batteries , no power inside the coach, I have factory installed solar panels and AGM batteries, Owners manual says under troubleshooting to check the reverse polarity fuse or fuses ? Also says locate the converter fuse panel on one end of converter, question Is where exactly is the converter and how do I get to it , One other thing is we did have a burnt wire smell coming from the fuse box inside the coach. Thanks

Do you have lights when you aren’t hooked to shore power? If not, the battery disconnect switch may be turned off.

There are two power systems in an RV. The 12V system that runs lights, slides, jacks, the furnace, vent fans and the control circuit for the air conditioning. Then you have the 120V system that feeds your outlets, runs the air conditioning, operates the converter that charges the battery and provides 12V power.

Welcome to the forum. Which power do you not have when disconnected from shore power, 120V , 12V , or both. The converter is usually located behind the false wall in the basement and as stated above converts 120V into 12V only when on shore power. An inverter will provide you 120V from the 12V batteries when disconnected from shore power.

Do the fuses look OK in the AC-DC Panel?

Is the battery hooked up with the correct polarity?

Is the "key" for the disconnect switch in all the way, and have you tried the other position of the switch and see if anything changes?

Also, might be good to get a volt meter and see what your battery reads.

Either your battery is dead or the disconnect switch is off.

A burnt wire smell is not a good thing.
Turn off the battery switch for safety.

If you know how to use a volt meter, start testing at the battery area.

    First
    Is the batteries connected correctly?
