    Check valve question

We are owners of a 2021 260RD and as I’m reading the owners manual, I came across something that I just don’t understand....’NEVER depress check valve on ‘CITY WATER CONNECTION’ with pressure in the line. What the heck does this mean? I’ve owned campers in the past, and I’m probably over thinking this, but I don’t want to mess anything up....please help!

You shouldn't be pushing in on the check valve anyway - but if you have an overwhelming urge to do so, turn off the water at the spigot, open up cold and hot faucets somewhere and release all pressure from both sides of the water system first. Otherwise, the check valve can/will be damaged.

It blows the O ring out of the valve and then it won't work. There is no reason to push it in. It is an "idiot warning" label.

It's part of the city water inlet connector.

So there is something behind the screen on the city connection inlet that shouldn’t be pushed in. You’re right, not sure why I would be messing with that. Thanks for the response!
