    Snap Pads

I just was able to raise up the rear jacks on my 2020 Reflection 303RLS, one hole higher. Now I am wondering if I should put Snap Pads on? I had originally purchased 4 Snap Pads, but I only put them on the landing gear so far.

I put snap pads on all six legs on our Solitude. I think they are a waste of money.

    Why do you say that?

I would agree with Dick. SnapPads are a lot more expensive and provide less surface area than 2x12 pressure treated wood. As an engineer I know who is also an RVer said, "SnapPads are a solution in search of a problem." I carry 8 - 10 pieces of the pressure treated 2x12 and can run two wheels up on them if one side is way too low or on soft ground. They also provide a little slip for the front landing gear which are slanted outward a few degrees.

I agree with second chance. I use 2x12's also. I still have the SnapPads on only because I paid for them. I've tried both ways, with and without, and I did not notice any difference.

Another vote against Snap Pads. Inexpensive Camco pad (14" x 14"?) and then use the yellow "lego" blocks when wanted or needed.

On solid ground I used the 'lego' blocks to within about 6" of the jacks so I don't have to lower the jacks so much and this prevents some movement versus using jacks extended a lot.

On dirt or grass and sometimes gravel I used the pads and then put the 'lego' blocks on them.

I have a friend who has the snap pads. They didn't drain so well when water got in them and some rusted so he had to re-paint them.

I love my snap pads. I consider them a great addition. A difference may be that I usually do not block the jacks at all and their larger tire rubber footprint in the random surfaces works great.

I think the snap pads are great. They keep the jack pads from sinking into the dirt and sand. The reason I got the six point level system is to get away from the whole board, lego, and dig holes for the tires thing. Now I have more time to drink bear.

One of the best upgrades I've made is Snap Pads. I haven't had to touch a wet, slimy 2x12 since I got em. No rust or anything like that either. I don't see how that could even happen but I'm sure anything is possible if you don't pay attention.

I love my snap pads. I leave wood for the campfire. I hated trying to dry out pieces of wood when braking camp with the old 5th wheel. Have not put a piece of wood or plastic block under my trailer since I put on snap pads........I cleaned and painted my jack pads before I installed the snap pads. Can't believe the you tubers that install them with rusty pads and even grass and mud on the metal pads. Maybe they are not for everyone but they are perfect for me.
