Changed out speakers in living room

In the quest for better sound, I changed out the ceiling speakers in our 369RL. Took out the factory 1 ways, and put in 3 way JBL GTO-638 6.5" speakers. Nice change. I'm thinking I will go ahead and change the head unit too. I will most likely go for an automotive dual din unit. Something with a decent amplifier, or external amp capabilities. I'll build a different face plate for where the head unit is, and then possibly wire a 4 channel amp behind the head unit. We'll see how it works out.

chris what is the size of the speakers? i def want to change mine out. Is there a "zone" control on the stereo so i can keep my living room/bedroom/outside speakers on or off seperately? i was also shocked to see the furrion combo stereo/dvd player doesnt play Blu Ray discs? its 2015, Blu Ray has been out for years now! wth! So far i have to say the only thing i really consider a shortcoming on my 385 is the junk stereo/dvd/speakers system. I hate to say it but i think my first real mod will be replacing the speakers and maybe adding a zone control..

It would seem that if you could solve zone control one could use an in-dash car audio DVD receiver. You would have Bluetooth for music, Bluetooth to make/receive calls, USB, Smart Phone apps and far better sound. The downside is Blu Ray is not supported and video output is RCA. I expect that the Furrion Entertainment center is 12 volt which would make for an easy change.

Chris, You are correct changing the speakers is a marked improvement. The Infinity coaxial 6.5's sound real good compared to the factory mono's.
