    Schwintek - Slide Room Lube????

I know that the motor and gear assy on the Schwintek needs to be lubed periodically with Power Lube. What I am wondering does the bottom of the room that slides on the carpet need to be lubed to help it to slide over the carpet?

It seems to me that would be a really good thing to do. Has anyone done that and if so what did you use and how did you apply it?

What needs to be lubricated are the bearing block and the gib and that is all. The motor requires no lubrication......not sure what is meant by gear assy. but whatever that may reference, that is not necessary either. This is the first post that I have seen on lubricating the bottom of the slide over the carpet. What would you use to do this and why necessary ?

Attached is the video from LCI showing how to lube with using only CRC Lube with PTFE. This video has been share a number of times over the years.

Yes, I have lubed those already and have that video stored in YouTube along with running the Schwintek controller.

What I am theorizing is that the bottom of the room slides over the rug as the room moves in and out. Might the bottom of the room have silicon or a similar compound wiped on the bottom, when the slide is extended, to keep it super slick so that drag is minimized?

The sides of the slideout and the seals are sprayed with a compound that makes those surfaces slick, so why not do the same to the bottom of the slide???

After all, the goal is long life and a slick system means less stress on the motors, gears, etc.

The bottom of the slide is made of a synthetic material which may be denatured or damaged by an applied lubricant. I would advise strongly against it. Carpet offers very little resistance.
