    Name That Part!!!

Let me say that I do consider myself smart and kind of handy but this let me stumped. I was looking at replacing the bathroom sink in my 2019 2800bh as it has developed a crack near the drain. When I peeked underneath sink to take measurements, I saw this:

It is made of black plastic and has 2 white waterlines going to it. It is being held in place by a black hose/cable keeper.

My question is what is it and what does it do? Thanks!

It's the vacuum breaker/back flow preventer for the black tank flush.

    Awesome, thanks!

So all that is doing is preventing the contents of your black tank from coming out the flush inlet in the case of a black tank overflow? It is crazy that they had to come up with a fix for that scenario. I wonder how many times it happened to warrant a backlog preventer?

Yes, it also prevents a vacuum from forming in that line to prevent a siphon effect. When you disconnect your hose from the flush inlet, the water that comes back out is actually clean water. Preventing water from staying in that line prevents any organisms and such from "climbing" up the water line and entering the hose you hook up.
