Schwintek motor replacement isuue in 2950rl

After diagnosing why our slide would not close we found that there was an issue with one of the motors. We pulled the motor as directed in the manuel but we had a problem. The coupler that the motor sits on which connects to the rod that runs top to bottom also came out as it was rusted to the motor shaft. Now we cant seem to get the coupler back down into the hole far enough to seat the motor correctly. Would anyone have any suggestions? We did pull both motors to physically push our slide closed as we needed to move it. Thank you for your time.
