Does adding helper springs require WDH adjustment?

I’m thinking of adding air bags, Sumo, or Timbren helper springs to my tow vehicle. Do either or all of these require adjusting the WDH?
My truck sits level with the bars hooked up, it just “squats” a lot until I get the bars on. Wondering if either kind would help.

I just added the Timbren system on my F150, but haven't towed my Imagine 2400 yet. Will give a full report next week.

My Tundra was the same, level with the WDH properly set but squat a lot without the WDH. I never added anything and towed my previous Rockwood for 10s of thousands of miles and my 297RSTS for 10,000 miles. That is what the WDH is supposed to do is to level out the tow vehicle so I would not add anything to the suspension. If you do though I think you need to adjust the WDH again. I would call tech support for your WDH and ask them though to confirm.

Thanks so much for your answer. I kind of thought the WDH would need adjusting if I did add either helper spring. Once I get the “Round Bars” on all is fine. I just have to really crank up the tongue Jack up to get them on.

I have have to really lift the trailer and the back of the truck with the jack as well to get the trunnion bars connected too. I think that is pretty much what needs to happen with the hevier tongue weights.

If it handles well and no sway that's all you can expect.

I too have to jack it up pretty high to get the bars on. If you don't have to jack it up fairly high your WDH is probably not set for maximum distribution and sway control.

And there is the rub. What exactly is "pretty high" or "fairly high"? Very subjective.
I know I have to jack mine up "somewhat" but that is also subjective.
I have a 10 k Equilizer with the square torsion bars. With trailer on the hitch and the bars hanging free, the top of the bars are about level with the top of the bracket on the trailer.
In other words I am lifting the trailer about the thickness of the bars.
The trailer is level after the bars are set and the trailer jack is retracted.
I know there is tension because it makes a racket when I turn.
I haven't been to weigh anything yet, will do that in a few weeks when we take another trip.
