    Standard equipment

Buying new for the first time. Does a battery come as standard equipment on a 5th wheel or at extra cost?

Mine was either included at no charge or was the most expensive battery in history depending on how you look at it!

Short of it is, it was included and charged when I picked it up!

They do not come with a battery from the manufacturer.

Usually, the dealer will provide it as part of their "prep" package.

Rvs are like battery operated toys for adults....remember the kids toys stating "battery not included." No battery from the factory but will be dealer installed factored in the final price. No worry though, not as bad as a Fed Gov. $2800 hammer........or maybe not ?

As Huntr70 states, "they do not come with a battery from the manufacturer". When the transport driver picks up the FW from the factory, they provide their own battery which is needed for the brakes to operate if the rig were to separate from the tow vehicle and the break-away feature has to activate. When the driver drops it off, they take their battery out of the rig, and the dealer assumes responsibility to install a battery.

When you make your purchase, you can discuss upgrading the batteries as part of the deal. In my instance, I negotiated installing two 6V AGM batteries (wired in series) at no added cost as part of the deal. Two 6V batteries typically will provide more reserve current capacity vs. two 12V batteries wired in parallel.
