Anyone with good knowledge GMC duallys?

This picture was posted on a Facebook page & I'm wondering if the performance capabilities are as good as the cosmetics. I think it's a great looking truck, but also have the BMW (motorcycles) attitude of function over form. TIA

Please tell me more; engine size/type, towing capacity, payload, fuel mileage, bed size, etc. I have been searching the internet and cannot seem to even find another picture like the one above.

I doubt you can register that as a Class III light pickup, which means you're gonna be paying higher registration and taxes. Why not just go with a 3500 series DRW with minimal options? You should be able to get up to 7000 lbs payload. I can't imagine any fiver that will exceed that payload.

I'm confused. The GMC/Chevy Kodiaks are Topkicks no? They're listed as class IV, V and VI medium duty trucks, similar to a Freightliner M2/M3 SportChassis are they not?

It's probably a function of the c4500 being made prior to DEF, and my living in the People's Republic of California. They've also disallowed HDT's converted into RV pullers. If I didn't have so much family here and I was a full timer, I'd probably live in a state that allows HDT's to be used as RV's and buy a much larger fifth wheel.

Those are medium duty trucks, like the Ford F650's. And with a custom RV bed, they're available in most of the U.S. You might get hit with some big taxes in some places and might even have to get a commercial driver's license.

I used to do business with a company that dealt with such trucks, and most were sold to owners of show horses and rodeos. They're nicer equipped than most commercial owners want. And their weight capabilities and initial cost are more than hotshotter truckers need.

If someone's wanting something to tow big RV's, you can buy a 1,000,000 mile well cared for heavy duty truck for $5K to $10K that still has plenty of life in it.
