Has any one seen this?
This last week, approximately 2 months since picking up our 379 I found sawdust sitting on the ledge of the fire place coming from the milled fluted panel above. After wiping it off a few days latter it shows up in different places on the entertainment center. Last night I discovered a neat access panel that was never shown to us that holds a lot of dvd's directly above the fireplace and opened it for the first time. Upon closer examination, there is a crack in one of the milled flutes running along the entire length of the panel about 4' long. That explains where the sawdust from the wood? that is ending up on the fire place is coming from but not all of the other areas I keep seeing on the entertainment center. Has any one else experienced this? Thanks

Hi Scott,
We get a constant feed of fine sawdust, like in your pictures, from behind the main switch panel into the adjacent cupboard. I haven't pulled the switch panel to see what's going on in there, but I know from looking in there before, that there is a lot of sawdust at the bottom of that space. I would expect that any hidden space is full of construction sawdust. Just something to vacuum up whenever you have reason to open one of these spaces.

I have encountered LOTS of sawdust, wire end clippings, etc wherever I have looked behind a panel or under a cabinet.
I still have sawdust and metal filings filtering into the basement storage compartment from the bedroom floor & closet above.

Yes. I also have found saw dust in weird places. When doing some of the work on my 385TH, I have pulled access panels and the underbelly, all extremely dirty - full of saw dust, wire clipping, wire fittings (used and new). Another place I have seen saw dust coming from is around the roof vents. I need to unscrew the molding and above, but can see saw dust if I just push on the ceiling a little bit. Its pretty sad that they don't do a better job of keeping things clean or at least cleaning up when they are done...what the customer doesn't see (or not supposed to see) must not matter.

I have seen this lack of attention to detail on every camper I have looked at. I work for a comany that builds aircraft, we must have a QA rep sign off any compartment before we close it up. I wish the rv builders would have the same workmanship, but then they would cost 5 times more. I just hate the attitude that the customer will never see it so it doesn't matter.

Quality control really does not cost more. In the long run it will save customer aggravation and unnecessary warranty claims.

You are right abqscott, but they only need to make it last a year then it is our problem to fix. I know GD has good support and quality. But they still need to make money.

" Last night I discovered a neat access panel that was never shown to us that holds a lot of dvd's directly above the fireplace and opened it for the first time." What about this cabinet, is that a 379 item? Have others seen, known about it? We have the 369 RL and can't picture where it would be, assuming the fireplace cabinet in the 379 is consistent across the different lines.
