Question Kitchen Sink Covers - Do You Use Them?

While watching an episode of Going RV today I noticed folks really liking the covers for the kitchen sinks in RVs. They always comment that it increases counter space.

Our experience is that we never used them. We found they just make it inconvenient to use the kitchen sink(s). Our last few RVs had enough counter space without them so we don't even stow them in the RV.

    Do you use them?

For the most part they stay in the cabinet under the sink. Our first few trips they were in the sink, until I read that's probably not a good idea, since they could fly out during a rough ride.

I sometimes put one of them in, leaving 1/2 the sink open for putting stuff in it.

I've put both in when we're using the island for food service.

Nope put away. We have enough counter space in the 297RSTS.

Looks like we're the first Yes vote. We leave them in place most of the time since we like the extra counter space they provide. We keep a dish pan of soapy water in the sink for the occasional knife or coffee spoon and just pivot one up when necessary. When it's time to do dishes, they get stowed then replaced when we're done. I'll qualify that by saying the workable countertop in a 381 is limited. Could this be more model specific than not?

We use one of them at times when we need a little more prep room. Sometimes we will also use that area to set our blender or stand mixer on, talk about roughing it [emoji6]

Occasionally I'll use one cover , rarely use both sides. Having the double sink there is usually a folding dish drainer in one side.

Whew! Nice to see that we're in the majority of non-users and won't be getting into trouble with authorities.

Our covers were put in our home garage when we brought the trailer home and will be re-united with the trailer when we sell it.
