    Washer

We own a 2014 reflection travel trailer, we can see the area for washer/dryer hook-up and are wondering what type unit to buy. I am looking for anyone with experience in what to buy (or not buy).

We installed a Splendide 2100X (vented) combo unit, it washes and then switches automatically over to dryer. We lived in our Momentum for 3 years and my wife did two loads a day, almost everyday while we lived in it. The washer worked great, only issue was when someone left a library card in their pocket and it clogged the drain pump. Only complaints, long cycle, about 3 hours start to finish, small loads, and clothes would be more wrinkled than a household type dryer.

What model Reflection TT do you own? If it's prepped for the washer on one side of the front closed and the dryer on the other side, I would recommend separate washer and dryer. The Splendides are popular with a lot of RVers. We installed Whirlpool separates (stackable - same dimensions as the Splendide separates) so that a Whirlpool technician would come to us if needed.

Rob, do you travel or are you in one place most of the time? I'm wondering if the Whirlpool set is "travel worthy". I don't know if the Splendides are MORE travel worthy, but they seem to be made FOR the RV owners, more so than the residential Whirlpools.

We usually stay on the move continuously. I would be very surprised if there was any difference in the internal construction between the two units. We've had zero issues with the Whirlpools which were recommended by our RV dealer who has installed a number of them.

Rob, what model(s) of Whirlpool washer/dryer did you purchase. My wife and I purchased a 2020 Solitude 372WB in September and have been looking for the right washer/dryer ever since. Friends who have the the washer with condensing dryer have not said nice things.

The washer is model WFW3090JW. The dryer is LDR3822PQ3. The washer gets poor reviews on Whirlpool's site and places like Lowe's, but the things people complain about are pretty stupid (timer countdown not accurate - which is true, but it's like that with our daughter's LG, too). We've been extremely happy with the pair. As of March, GD was still working on reconfiguring the W/D closet in the Solitudes so, depending on when your unit was built, installation of any brand of W/D may require modification of the front wall of the closet. The dryer vent also cannot go where GD put the sticker. The techs at our dealership figured it all out, though, and did a nice job.
