Dealers competing southern California, trailerhitchrv good reputation?

Live in San Diego, put down deposit at Holland RV yesterday for two trailers.
Received request to beat or match Holland RV from trailer hitch RV by several thousand $ today.

Told California DMV allows penalty free cancel before delivery.
Holland RV warned me against 'shady' tactics at trailerhitchrv.

Tempted to just go with whoever is cheaper as long as savings are significant enough to be worth switching...

No idea if either dealer better than the other, or if one should be avoided....I assume rv is rv and I just have rv inspected before delivery....

Anyone with experience at southern California dealers?

    First, congrats!

I would be a bit worried about how they even found out you were q buying customer. Additionally, it is a good way to see what the competition is selling at so they could do just enough to under bid. I for one would stay away, shady practices.

I had an inquiry out at trailerhitchrv a month ago and their pricing was not so attractive then.

Holland RV is definitely overcharging, trying to get only 10-15% under MSRP.
However, they warned me trailerhitchrv has insane walk in prices and then overcharged going out door.

Trailerhitchrv provided me with truth in lending paperwork for Apple's to apples final comparison, but they are 350 miles away and not sure how I pickup two RVs there.

They claim rvs on lot, but Holland had to order with 30 day delay.

Only limited experience with trailer hitch RV, but we used them to get a good deal at our more local dealer. We requested an online "what's your rock bottom price" quote and took it to the dealer closest to us. It was a good quote, so we were willing to go to trailer hitch RV, if our local dealer wouldn't match it.

I would be leery of any "that other dealer is shady" comments by any dealer.

Regarding the pre-delivery inspection - YOU really need to be the one who checks everything out, don't rely on the dealer to cover it all without checking it yourself.

Another consideration, there are dealers who will not work on rigs they did not sell, or put them at the back of the service line (behind any rigs in for service that they sold). But, from what I've read here, most dealer service facilities are pretty bad.

Well, it's moot... Holland RV is refusing to give refund on deposit.

And, during sale...they refused to move down from MSRP unless we committed to buying both Rvs.

Trailerhitchrv, on other hand, seems to have been nothing but professional so far.

subscribed.... for your next move or did Holland win out?

When we ordered our unit with $500 deposit it was clear they would refund if we changed our decision.

We put down 5k deposit on 30k 265bh.
We put down 8k deposit (minimum they would accept) on 36k 24mpr.

    All cash sale. No financing.

Wondering if the financing was their profit center which is why hardball on higher pricing and deposit.

Hope things work out and although maybe not the best deal, you will have a dealer that’s close in case of warranty issues.

I was reading another thread for different reasons and came across something that might help you, post #17

Well, it's my fault for not Checking granddesignrv site for build and price msrp on the 24mpr.

Holland RV told me msrp was 44k. They offered discount to 36k.
    Actual real msrp is 35k.

    Ouch.

Lawyer being brought in, I'm not sure if they committed fraud when they lied about 24mpr MSRP. I believe all vehicle dealers are required to accurately disclose manufacturer MSRP.

You combine that with abnormally high deposit and refusing to cancel/refund when no losses have bern incurred on their part.
