AustexGP I agree 100% . Stone Creek is just a few miles from where I work. After riding through it a couple of times I wasn't impressed at all. Lots of full timers in old beat up RV's and most of the sites are gravel as you say and too small for my

We live in Boerne and have always heard Alamo Fiesta is a good place to stay. At the base of the Hill Country, right on IH-10 between SA and Kerrville/Fredericksburg. I have never driven through it, but it always seems busy.

My wife and I spent a week at the KOA and it was wonderful. This location is convenient to lots of places to visit and the sites are not cramped together. My wife would go back in a heart beat but it's a long trip from California.

We have stayed there and it was a very nice place. If you play golf there is a golf course right near there that you get a very nice discount.

I too have heard this is an excellent place to stay. I will be planning a trip in 2021 to San Antonio and this is the place I will book.

Another place to consider, and we have stayed at, is Peach Country RV Park, 14780 East US HWY 290, Stonewall, TX 78671. This place is pristine clean, convenient to Frederiksburg and Johnson City. It is very close to the LBJ Homestead National Park. It is a place that's quiet and peaceful. If you're looking for activities and entertainment at a RV Park this would not be the place.

Depending on what your interest are I would consider staying in Kerrville (Buckhorn Lake) or one of the many RV parks in Fredericksburg. There's a bunch of things to do in both of these hill country towns. You're not far from San Antonio or Austin for day trips, close to Bandera, Comfort, Enchanted Rock, New Braunfels, Gruene (Green). Just a lot more laid back area.

If you are set on San Antonio then I think the KOA would be the best bet.

    Try looking here

Look for RV campsites off of Hwy 281 North. Just outside San Antonio city limits. Clean, quiet and convenient to quite a few areas. I think you'll enjoy the areas.

We just came through 281 North last month, the highway construction is pretty bad, have lots of time and patience.

The construction is not bad near the RV parks, just south of there. I have my house just off of Hwy 281.
The construction slows drastically before spring branch area.
