    Convection microwave oven

Just picked up our new Reflection 303RLS and my wife noticed that our unit does not have a convection microwave oven. We thought that would be included. Is this something we should be concerned about?

If you were to ask me, I would say you are better off with a regular microwave and regular gas oven. Especially if you boondock much.

There are no convection microwaves in Reflections anymore.

At least for now. (I was told that they couldn't get the convection model due to shortages).

Steve - what is the cause of all the RV industry component shortages ? Is it a worker shortage or a materials shortage or ? What does the next few or several months look like relative to this getting resolved ?

The story i was told by my dealer was that Grand Design stopped putting convection ovens in their units because of a safety issue. Something in the microwave was getting way to hot and was causing a fire hazard. So who knows. All i know is that we have a regular microwave in our trailer. We have never had a convection oven so we don't know what we are missing

It's the same in this industry as all. Covid shut down everything from the raw materials, to the manufacturers, to the suppliers.

We can't buy a/c units right now through any of our suppliers, they are all out. Grand Design has cut all my orders for 3rd a/c units in Momentum and Solitude, and also to single a/c only on travel trailers.

I have heard that the Lippert plants making the soft goods (sofas, cushions, etc) are only allowed to have 50% workers on the machinery.

Everything just snowballs from the very beginning.

The actual shipping of units is now 4-5 weeks behind actual offline dates.

It's not only the RV Industry. I have a co-worker here that ordered a washer/ dryer set from Home Depot in April. Still not in.

I wish our Reflection didn't have the convection microwave. I've used the convection part twice (never had one before, new thing to learn). I'm not impressed and will probably never use it again. I would rather have the large cabinet next to the microwave that used to be there with just the microwave only option.
