Imagine 2250RK Fresh Water tank water pump will not use all the water in the tank

We just used the fresh water tank for the first time and the inside gauge went from 1/3 to empty very quickly and of course stopped pumping water inside the trailer. When we hooked up to leave and I opened the fresh water tank drain valve several gallons of water poured out. Is it possible that the siphon hose is not deep enough into the fresh water tank? - Has anyone else noticed this?

I'll have to try ours. If that's the case then we are carrying wasted weight. I wonder how easy it would be to remedy

I am going to take the TT in for some warranty stuff as we wanted to use the TT several times prior to the 1 year warranty being up, then take it in. So we'll see what they end up saying. I have an appointment to drop it off later this month.

I try to keep about 10 to 15 gals in ours all the time except below freezing weather. Change water out about ever 2 or 3 months and add a very little Clorox when I add water. We use mainly bottled water for drinking and cooking.

Water pickups in RVs are an inch or 2 above the bottom of the tank to prevent any accumulated sediment from being sucked into the water pump. I extended the winterizing line and tied it into the fresh tank drain so I can use all the water in the tank. I also installed a shutoff valve on the overflow and can cram a few more gallons in the tank via the gravity fill port.

Nice resolution to the problem. I've been strictly on City Water for a year and half since getting my 2500RL and recently needed to use my fresh water tanks. I was in cold weather when it happened and thought my pickup hose was frozen, but after reading these post, it looks like my pickup hose is a high one! I'm in California weather now and even with 15 gals of fresh water in the tank, it wasn't enough to pick up. I added more water and the pump was able to get some water. Not happy that I have 15 gals + of water not able to use. I'll consider your resolution. Thanks....
