    ProPride spring bar question

I've decided on a ProPride hitch and I'm looking to order soon. What are the pros and cons of ordering larger spring bars? In theory, I should only need the 800#. Is there a downside if I just order the 1400# bars? I imagine they would be heavier, so maybe the added weight would be a downside.

That is a good question for the folks at ProPride,
You will find everyone including the owner Sean
very willing to answer any and all questions.
Brent is another guy we have found very helpful.
ProPride is excellent at supporting their product.
We purchased and installed several months ago and have been
    very happy with our purchase.

If they are over rated, they make the ride harsh.

    Too stiff in the middle.

Call ProPride to verify, but the big change will be that you don't have to raise them very far to get proper weight distribution to the front of the tow vehicle. MIGHT make it a bit harder to fine tune, as a little bit of change will transfer more weight for each turn of the crank.
What trailer? If you are going by the published tongue weight, you will find that it will be much heavier in real life.

BTW - add a 18-20v drill (NOT impact driver) to your shopping list for them. Makes setting the bars so much faster. My battery died yesterday when picking mine up from the lot. Had to use a socket wrench to raise the bars (on mine, have to go almost to the max). Not a lot of effort...but it did take a while to ratchet them up.....

Appreciate the advice everyone. I will call ProPride next week before I place an order.
