    Brakes only on back axle

Just recently replaced all brakes on travel trailer, pulled it home checked the heat coming from brakes and only the back brakes was hot. Checked adjustment on the front and they was adjusted properly. Hooked back up and checked to see if I could hear them engage and I can only hear the back engage. The mechanic had the trailer for six weeks for a brake job so I don’t want to take them back, I’d rather find solution myself or take it somewhere else. Anyone have any ides where to start to find problem?

Sounds like a cut or disconnected wire for the front axle.

I would use the method in the below thread posted by @TucsonJim to determine if the magnets are actually being energized. Depending on where you are checking power there may be a disconnect between your check point and the magnet(s). It is odd that it would be both front wheels. Maybe the mechanic didn't put any magnets in?

Seems to be an issue with the forum software when inserting links.

That got me to the post. thanks.

Don't know why I never thought of that technique. I've noticed the same issue with one of my axles. Trailer is stopping good but one axle is a lot cooler than the other. I'll check it.

Short story - I had no brakes on my front axle either. After pulling the wires down beside the Coroplast and probing with a voltmeter I found a bad splice. I cut it out and soldered and used shrink tube on the wire.
