We were researching the rack and Advanced Elements inflatable kayaks but a back injury put it on hold. We saw a couple of the more expensive Advanced Elements and was impressed with them, maybe not quite as good a solid but solved the storage problem.

We have a Sea Eagle two-person inflatable kayak and we're very happy with it. Then again, we may be older and less serious kayakers than you are...

I was worried about my 13' 6" clearance!

Speaking of clearance, I'm new to the whole RV thing... is there a good reference on line or in print for road clearance and roads to avoid ?

I have the Allstays app on my phone and tablet. It has road grade and bridge clearance searchable by state.
Also there is a great book, yes a real paper page by page book! That has all the grades and bridge heights. There is an east and west version.

We use the Garmin RV-760 GPS specifically designed for RVs. Once the rig parameters (weight, height, width, length, etc.) are entered in the GPS profile, it's supposed to steer you around these things. So far, it's done a good job for us (but I don't think it takes grades into consideration). The Mountain Directory is highly recommended by many. There is also a web site https://www.flattestroute.com/ that will tell you grades on any leg of a route.
